To successfully retrieve in the gundog world, a dog must be calm and responsive to commands. Adam offers some advice on training this successfully. He also suggests how this training can be useful outside the gundog world in helping to control dogs, particularly high energy dogs, who may show obsessive or possessive behaviour when retrieving an object.
