What happens at a puppy's first training class?

Puppy classes vary between trainers. If you are choosing a class the most important thing is that they are using 'nice' methods. Go and watch the class - would you like to be trained in the same way as the puppies? If so - it's probably a good class!

Puppy training classes are a brilliant way for a new puppy to practise some basic training, but more importantly, for them to learn some valuable socialisation skills with other people and other dogs. In this video, Kevin Marchant with his puppy Skyler, tells us what happened in their first lesson at Hatfield Dog Training Club and what he feels he and his puppy learned. We also hear from the instructor, Gillian Clow, on how she thought new recruits Kevin and Skyler got on.
