What happens at a puppy's first veterinary visit and how can you prepare?
Little Skyler (terrier crossbreed who was dumped in a shop doorway at just a few weeks old) doesn't seem at all fazed by her first official visit to the vet. This is largely due to all the preparation that has gone into getting her used to being handled and used to the veterinary environment... plus the added bonus of a little squeezy cheese!
When you get a pup make sure they have lots of positive experiences with vets, vet nurses and even the veterinary surgery reception waiting room, to ensure it isn't a scary place.
Make sure your puppy is used to being handled all over so that the vets can examine them without scaring them.
