In this video, dog training instructor Pam Mackinnon tells us about the dog sport Talking Dogs Rally and explains the details, from training to competition.
Talking Dogs Rally is a new dog sport launched in the UK in 2010 by Pam Mackinnon and Rebecca Skelhon. It is based on Rally-Obedience, created by Charles Kramer in the USA ten years ago. Pam and Becky here give a bit more information about how it works.
Each dog / handler team starts with 200 points and moves round an obedience type course following given instructions on signposts and trying to lose as few points as possible. Classes are available up and down the country where you can train in the skills and all dogs are welcome as are all owners. It sounds a lot of fun!
